The renovations of the Florida home have begun, my friends! When I shared my ideas about the Florida house I bought and the renovation, I said that the first thing I would do was to paint the dark blue walls white.
Enter Magnolia Home paint by Joanna Gaines (r). The previous owner of the house had painted the accent wall in the living room navy blue. It was a nice colour but not the style I wanted for this space.
MY LATEST VEDIS
I love white walls, especially those that are a seamless transition from one room to the next. White or neutral walls allow furniture, accents, art and plants to stand out. This makeover was completed in one day!
I chose the color in the morning and was ready to paint by midday. I prepared the area by removing the electrical plates and covering the floor with a tarp. By the evening, I had finished painting. The following morning, I moved in the new furniture. A 24 hour makeover that is easy!
Magnolia by Joanna Gaines (r) paint comes in 150 different colors. I chose the whites and went straight to the neutral area. I chose ‘Pearly Cotton,’ as it was more similar to the walls around me.
“Pearly Cotton” has been described as a beige that is bleached, and this is exactly right. It also has a slight vanilla scent and leans more taupe than beige. It’s the perfect warm white for my living room.
Because I had never used this brand, I was excited to learn more about the Magnolia Home By Joanna Gaines (r) Paint Line by KILZ(r). It includes primer, which is a great time-saver! In the past, primer was used to cover walls and then paint them with two coats. I selected the matte sheen to achieve a powdery soft finish.
