Sonoma County, California has been my home my entire life except during periods of college and law school studies. Growing up here was memorable due to its small towns, rolling hills filled with vineyards and oak trees and small oak forests lining their roadsides. Napa County lies adjacent and both are popular travel destinations – though I believe Sonoma may edge ahead slightly due to its fifty miles of Pacific coastline, redwood forests, and variety of activities available to visitors.
“What are the top things to see and do when visiting Northern California wine country?” Today I will focus on my home county of Sonoma; here are my suggestions of places you must see when in Sonoma County; these offer the best experiences and views – these are also places I take out-of-town family or friends when they visit!
1. Highway 121 Wineries – Viansa, Jacuzzi Vineyards, Cline Cellers and Cornerstone Gardens
In my previous blog posts about Sonoma wine tasting experiences I highlighted my five favorite vineyards located along Highway 121 corridor – these five wineries can easily be visited within one day and highly recommended! Viansa Vineyards, Jacuzzi Vineyards, Cline Cellers and Cornerstone Gardens come highly recommended!
