Hello there! Today I’d like to introduce another fabric print I designed, an amusing painterly pattern I call Confetti! It comes in three color options; blue + green, blush + turquoise and olive + apricot.
I used my sewing machine to turn one yard of cotton fabric into a pullover using simple cuts and stitched it all together with ease.
My approach for cutting this sweatshirt wasn’t conventional: instead, I relied on its shape as my guide when cutting.
Here is one informal way of creating a pullover from a yard of fabric: first I cut two pieces for the body and two for each sleeve out of one yard of cotton knit fabric and used this to construct my pullover.
Next I used the neck of the sweatshirt as a guide for cutting an opening in fabric, using it as an outline and cutting a semi circle shape out of it.
I trimmed the fabric so as to form both the bottom of the body as well as its top half.
I made a small cut at an angle matching that of my shoulder, to match its angle.
