As I searched for my Florida house to buy, my family and I stayed in a vacation rental that felt so welcoming that I decided to write about why. When renting, my top priorities are cleanliness, comfort and style at an affordable rate; since I don’t spend too much time in it anyway – just want it feel cozy when there.
As an alternative to hotels, I often opt for vacation rental homes when traveling for these reasons. While I have written before about what makes a great guest room when renting private rooms, here I want to comment on decorative choices which create a comfortable environment – an approach which could come in handy should I ever host my own vacation rental myself!
Renters spend much of their free time relaxing in their living rooms. This particular space featured a modern leather sofa designed for lounging and watching TV, complete with several streaming services for added entertainment. A pair of chairs created a conversation zone while my coffee table served as the place where I placed my morning cup while researching local real estate listings.
